Isa Garcia has been in love with stories for a very long time.

So she's been finding different ways to consume them, tell them, and live them. She has written a few books over the last few years but is currently more focused on building creative spaces for others. If she had to sum up the story of her life these days, it'd be: woman in her mid-30's is leaning into the utter joy and humility of starting over.Isa Garcia lives in Metro Manila, Philippines. You can reach her at [email protected].

Creative Writing Workshops

Think of your favorite writer. How thoughtful or original or interesting are they? How funny or precise or candid? A big reason why you love them is their specific way with words. In the literary world this is known as voice. Most of my participants take my creative writing workshop because they are looking for a starting point, a space where they can build their own distinct voice. In this workshop we explore different styles and techniques (poetry, fiction, literary journalism, etc.) to help you get there.A creative writing workshop is structured and follows a specific format within the allotted class time. Creative writing workshops can be customized to fit your needs or goals as a writer and will always come with constructive feedback from the instructor (aka me!).

  • Typically 2-3 hours

  • Can be a private one-on-one class (online or face to face)

  • Can be a private group class (min. of 3 individuals, online or face to face)

  • Workshop price will vary depending number of hours, number of participants, and whether they'll be conducted online or in person.

  • We can discuss class/workshop rates via email :)

Writing Therapy

I've navigated through every heartbreak, change, and failure in my life by finding and using my words. Writing is the compass, map, and outlet that has helped me make the most sense of my inner world. It is often the birthplace of my better, braver self.Writing therapy focuses more on soft skills (vulnerability, emotional resilience, taking a look at your internal capacity) and finding a way to articulate what's going on within the self. It is less structured than a creative writing class and does not aim to improve one's technical skills. The main objective of a writing therapy class is to provide catharsis, release, and, with any luck, relief.

  • Typically 2-3 hours

  • Can be a private one-on-one class (online or face to face)

  • Can be a private group class (min. of 5 individuals, online or face to face)

  • Workshop price will vary depending number of hours, number of participants, and whether they'll be conducted online or in person.

  • We can discuss class/workshop rates via email :)
